What is Bridify, in one breath?

Bridify is a free app where you swipe through real wedding dresses from real designers, about 5,000 of them from more than 80 labels. Swipe right on the ones you love, and when you are ready, the app shows you the boutiques near you that carry those designers.

It is not a shop. Think of it as the friend who has already seen every dress and sits next to you while you build the shortlist.

Is it really free?

Yes, properly free. The feed, your wishlist and finding boutiques near you cost nothing, and there is no trial that quietly turns into a subscription. Download it, swipe, save, done.

The app offers a virtual try on feature which you can try for free. You can buy more credits to virtually try on more dresses.

Why should I use Bridify instead of Pinterest to find wedding dress inspiration?

Pinterest is lovely for mood, and we still use it for flowers. Dresses are where the pins let you down: a lot of what you save has no designer attached, and some of it was made up by AI and never sewn, so the dress you fell for may not exist, and if it does, nobody can tell you who makes it, whether it is sold in your country, or where to try it on.

Every dress on Bridify comes from the designer's own images, has a name, and only shows up if it is sold where you live. Pinterest gives you ideas. Bridify gives you a dress you can actually try on.

How is Bridify different from Instagram?

Instagram is where designers post, so it feels like the obvious place to look. But the dresses you like have no place where you can see them all. And plenty of them are from labels that do not sell in your country, and there is no way to get from a photo to a boutique that has that label on the rail.

Bridify keeps every dress you save in one place, only shows you labels sold in your market, and from any dress you can jump straight to the boutiques near you that carry that designer.

Are these dresses real, and can I actually try them on?

Real, all of them. Every dress in the feed comes from the designer's own photos, not from AI and not from random screenshots. The only AI in the app is Virtual Try-On, and it only ever shows you a real dress from the feed. And the feed only shows you labels that are actually sold in your market, so what you fall for is from a designer that boutiques in your country carry. Whether a particular boutique has that exact dress on the rail is a phone call away, and the app tells you which ones carry the label, so you know who to ring.

I saved a dress. How do I find a shop near me that has it?

Open the dress and tap Find boutique. The app shows you the shops near you that carry that designer.

One honest thing to know: boutiques stock a selection from each label, not the whole collection, so no app can promise that one exact dress is hanging on the rail. If your heart is set on a particular one, ring the boutique first and ask. They will usually tell you straight away, and if they do not have it, they can often order it in for you.

Does the app show prices?

Where the designer has given us one, you will see a price range on the dress, so you know roughly what you are looking at before you fall in love. It is a range, not an exact figure, because the same dress can cost different amounts in different shops. And not every designer shares one, so some dresses simply will not show a price.

Which countries does it work in?

Right now Bridify works in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. You can download it anywhere in the world, but the dresses and the boutiques you see are matched to those countries, so if you live somewhere else the boutique finder will not have much for you yet.

Can I buy a dress in the app?

No, and that is on purpose. A wedding dress is the one thing you should try on before you buy: the fit, the weight of the fabric, how it moves when you walk. The app is for the part before that, finding the dresses you love and the boutiques that carry them. The trying on and the buying stay with the boutique, where they belong.

What if I have no idea what style I want?

Then you are exactly who the swipe was made for. Plenty of brides start out convinced they hate lace, or sleeves, or anything with a train, and then swipe right on one and cannot explain why. A few minutes in, your wishlist starts telling you what you actually like, which is much more useful than what you thought you liked.

Bring that wishlist to your first appointment. It saves the consultant guessing and saves you trying on twenty dresses to find the shape.

Do you have plus-size and maternity dresses?

Yes. Where a designer has flagged a dress as plus-size or maternity, you will see that on the dress. Boutiques can mark themselves as plus-size specialists too, so when you look for a shop you can see who has made a point of carrying a wider range of sizes, which is the part that matters once you want to try dresses on rather than imagine them.

When should I start looking?

Nine to twelve months before the wedding is comfortable. Most dresses are made to order and take several months to arrive, and you want time for alterations after that without anyone panicking.

Swiping, though, you can start the day after the proposal. It costs nothing, it is the fun part, and by the time you walk into a boutique you will already know what you are looking for.
